Lots of people can provide information about starting a small business laundromat, but you have to make sure that all the information provided is reliable.
We all know of somebody that set up a small business. However, were you aware that seventy percent all small businesses do not survive the first year? In some countries that failure rate is as high as 85 to 90%. Small Business is one of the toughest industries you can ever decide to take on and most people who go into small business go into it for the wrong reason.
I have started a number of small businesses over the last 10 years and every single one of them has been started from scratch and survived into a thriving business. Just recently I have decided to sell one of the businesses off because it had done what I expected it to do which is the first issue you need to think about.
Believe it or not, most of the people who actually set up a small business do so for the wrong reasons. I've also done the same. What do I mean by the wrong reason? The majority of men and women who set up a small business do so thinking they can do better than their current employer. Perhaps there is an element of truth in this. However, most small business owners really want improved employment conditions with an increased income. No one can blame you for wanting that. If this sounds like you then I would advise you not to get involved with your own small business.
Finding this article useful so far? If you have the patience to go through the remainder of this article related to starting a small business laundromat you will certainly learn one or two things that will prove very helpful to you.
One of the major things you must give some thought to up-front before getting started with your small business is whether you know how it will appear to others. How do you want your clients to view what you do? What is your vision for what you want to accomplish in this business?
The second thing is this. How will you know when the business is "done" i.e. when it is finished? When you have created what you wanted to create? And even more importantly, how will you then get out of the business?
The thing is, you see, most men and women when they go into business have no idea of an exit strategy. This is really bad. Before you ever start a business, the first thing you must work out is how you are going to get out of the business.
A couple of years ago, I kicked off a small car valeting business. Me & my wife began it because my wife wanted to see if she could actually run a small business. Our plan to get out of it was to sell off the business once it was fully up and running and successful. We were not sure how we were going to sell it.
See, we could have taken a number of approaches to this. To exit the business, we could have franchised it, sold it off to another small business entrepeneur or even let it float on the stock market. We chose that we only wanted to sell it to another owner, but we still built the business in such a way that there was still plenty of growth and opportunity in the business for the new owner, but we had removed the risk for them on how to run the business by clearly documenting everything they needed to do to run that business.
